Rail Cargo Romania
Within the framework of the strategy of expansion toward South East Europe, the Rail Cargo Romania S.R.L. was founded in January 2010 by Rail Cargo Austria from its branch office, which had been established in 2008. As an independent railway operator, Rail Cargo Romania carries out regularly scheduled transport between Rumania and Austria. It also operates the terminal Ploesti, approximately 50 km northwest of Bucharest, on behalf of Rail Cargo Austria.
Rail Cargo Romania currently has 48 employees, including 26 locomotive drivers. Five locomotives provided by ÖBB-Produktion GmbH and two Romanian-built diesel and electric locomotives ensure both national and international freight transport for RCA customers from and to Central Europe.
Many years of experience, extensive industry know-how and an international network of contract partners allow us to offer our customers a wide range of cross-boarder services along the entire transport chain.
