Intercontinental overseas traffic
In the area of Maritime Services, Rail Cargo Austria offers back-country container transport to and from the most important European harbours.
The main routes include reliable connections to the German North Sea ports of Hamburg and Bremerhaven, to the Western ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, as well as to the Mediterranean ports of Koper and Triest.
Upon demand, it is also possible to offer routes from Austria to less frequented harbours, for example to the Ligurian harbours or to Southern Italia, Croatia, etc.
On selected routes, reliable block train connections can be used to and from the most important harbours in the Central European area. Due to high capacities and departure frequencies, as well as a fixed time table, these connections are used regularly and gladly by all freight forwarders, shipowning companies and shipping agencies.
Routes for which block trains are
not possible due a lack of capacity utilization are covered by our maritime
single wagon network.
