ChemFreight invests in location Krems

RCA subsidiary ChemFreight strengthens position as dangerous goods logistics service provider and takes over the location Krems from major freight forwarder Logwin.

Following control by the Competition Authorities, ChemFreight Transport, Logistik & Waggonvermietung GmbH has taken over the Logwin location Krems.

The takeover of this part of Logwin's operation serves to further develop the tight inter-linkage and longstanding business relationship of ChemFreight with the customers at the chemical industry location Krems. Thus the company becomes an integrated dangerous goods logistics service provider and a one stop shop for the complete range of logistics services including transports by rail, truck and ship as well as warehousing and value added services (customs, waste management) at this location. The location is technically up to date and offers ideal conditions for the planned business expansion.

ChemFreight transported about seven million tons of goods a year for the mineral oil, gas, chemical and fertilizer industry. The RCA subsidiary EXPRESS-INTERFRACHT and Ermewa Switzerland are both 50 per cent shareholders. In 2008, ChemFreight generated a turnover of 131m Euro with 38 employees.
