CESAR for RCA container traffic

Intercontainer Austria (ICA) – a subsidiary of Rail Cargo Austria – participates in the European information network for container transport
The tracking/tracing and communication platform CESAR (Co-operative European System for Advanced Information Redistribution) has developed into a European information network in the field of container transportation. “The successful integration of CESAR at Intercontainer Austria tops off our comprehensive range of services for supply chain management. Now our customers can always keep track of the places where their consignments are at the moment, across the entire chain of transportation“, so the explanation of Wilhelm Patzner, managing director of Intercontainer Austria. In the future, CESAR enables the representation of a cross-operator information chain for container transports from, to and across Austria.
CESAR informs the customers about the current status of their consignments, with the information covering everything from the delivery of a load unit to departure and provisioning/pick-up. At present ICA uses the service of CESAR for the Mozart Express traffic (container traffic Wels – Duisburg/Neuss/Ludwigshafen, including pre-carriage and on-carriage). National traffic and the South port connections (Koper and Trieste) will also be connected to the tracking/tracing and communication platform in the near future.
The freight forwarders Cemat (Italy), Hupac (Switzerland), Kombiverkehr (Germany), Adriakombi (Slovenia), Hungaria Intermodal (Hungary), IFB (Belgium), Novatrans (France) and now Intercontainer Austria are involved in the CESAR platform.
